Amid global climate change and the push for low-carbon energy, gasification power solves energy security and environmental issues. Fossil fuel (coal, oil) power causes high GHG emissions, air pollution, and resource depletion—per IEA, it contributes ~40% of global CO2, key for Paris Agreement cuts.​ Growing energy demand (from urbanization, industrialization) needs sustainable options. Coal-fired plants release SO2, NOX, PM (worsening smog, health issues), but gasification turns diverse feedstocks (coal, biomass, MSW) into clean syngas, enabling CCUS to cut GHG more than conventional methods.​ Also, circular economy trends favor gasification: it uses waste to reduce landfills (and methane) while making energy. For coal-rich regions with strict rules, it helps decarbonize without abandoning local resources.​ In short, gasification power addresses climate change, air pollution, and resource efficiency—while meeting energy demand.
